In this paper we attempt to find whether earnings management affects dividend policy. We use discretionary accruals as a measure of earnings management. We first calculate total earnings by using the Sloan's model (1996) and non-discretionary accruals using Jones model. We then arrive at the discretionary accruals by taking the difference between the above two. We take the total dividend pay-outof our sample firms and then perform regression to find whether discretionary accruals are influencing the dividend policy. Our findings reveal that the discretionary accruals is an influencing factor in the dividend pay-out. We also find that, firm ownership, free cash flow and beta are also influencing variables. Keywords

Credit rating is a useful tool for the investors as it helps them to minimise or avoid default risk and also for the issuers as a marketing tool. There are many other merits which enhance the utility of credit rating. But at the same time, there are certain critical issues which are subject to lot of discussions and researches.
Tlte present paper discusses utility of credit ratings for the players in the process. It deals with the impact of credit rating announcements and also with the information content in the credit rating symbols. The paper finally identifies certain issues and studies each such issue in the light of empirical evidence.

Background/Objectives: Weather forecasting is to facilitate the appliance of knowledge and tools to predict the state of the atmosphere for a future time at a given location. Methods/Statistical Analysis: This paper focused to forecast the weather conditions on Indian weather conditions using three approaches such as ANFIS, ARIMA and polynomial curve fitting. It’s disbursed by collection quantitative information regarding state of the atmosphere and past and/or present experiences. Findings: In this analysis, this work reveals the superior performance of polynomial curve fitting through the SSE, RMSE, MAE and R2.Keywords

Biodiesel is a low-emissions diesel substitute fuel made from renewable resources and waste lipid. The most common way to produce biodiesel is through transesterification, especially alkali-catalyzed transesterification. When the raw materials (oils or fats) have a high percentage of free fatty acids or water, the alkali catalyst will react with the free fatty acids to form soaps. The water can hydrolyze the triglycerides into diglycerides and form more free fatty acids. Both of the above reactions are undesirable and reduce the yield of the biodiesel product. This problem is overcome by use of acid catalysts. The present review looks into various aspects of biodiesel production using homogeneous alkali and acid based catalysts. The main factors affecting the yield of biodiesel, i.e. alcohol quantity, reaction time, reaction temperature and catalyst concentration, are also discussed. The flow schemes for continuous production of base catalyzed and acid catalyzed biodiesel production are discussed. Scope for future work is also presented.- Analysis of particle movement and partial discharge in the winding of power transformer using CFD
